Bydgoszcz

Bydgoszcz is the capital of the Kujawy-Pomerania Province and the eighth largest city in Poland. It covers a part of Kujawy and is picturesquely situated between the Brda and the Vistula rivers and on the course of Bydgoszcz Canal. It is here that important road, rail and water routes cross. The city has an airport (it takes about 15 minutes to get there from the city center by city bus).
Bydgoszcz is one of the leading national centers of the IT industry and business services for Business Process Outsourcing / Share Service Center. The Pomeranian Special Economic Zone operates in the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park.
Bydgoszcz is an academic, scientific and cultural center as well. The universities and colleges of the region, fifteen, educate approximately 35,000 students.
 

Culture

The cultural offer of Bydgoszcz is opulent and includes the Pomeranian Philharmonic, the Opera Nova, as well as the Municipal Cultural Center. The city organizes cyclical cultural events, such as:

  • The River of Music is a summer cycle of concerts on the Brda River in the center of Bydgoszcz
  • Busker Fest is a meeting of an international community of travelling artists called “buskers.” The festival includes concerts, shows, performances and happenings presented on the streets of Bydgoszcz
  • Bydgoszcz Music Festival is an international festival organized every year in Bydgoszcz by the Pomeranian Philharmonic
  • Crossing the River World Cup
